Ivet Cruz has 22 years experience as a journalist and translator. She has a BA in English translation from the Central American University (UCA), Nicaragua. She also has a Masters in International Relations from the Pontificia Javeriana University of Colombia with a specialization in Communications Media from the Andes University in the same country. She also gained a specialization in English-Spanish translation from the University of Valladolid in Spain. She worked as a translator and journalist for the newspaper La Prensa, the main communications media in Nicaragua, for many years. From 2007 she has worked as a fixer for some foreign media such as The New York Times, Washington Post and Kurtis Production, all from the United States.
